Pelister (2601m) is the highest peak on Mountain Baba and a national park where the endemic five-needled pine tree called Molika grows in abundance, even at heights of 2200m.
The mountain is strewn with huge granite boulders, locally known as Rock Rivers. It is a natural reserve rich with springs and streams and home to various wildlife - bears, deer, wolves, wild boars, eagles and many more species.
There are two main routes to the top, one more challenging across the big granite boulders for the more demanding trekkers and an easier one through the deep Molika forrest.
Once on top we will come down the other side of the mountain to visit the two glacial lakes called Pelister Eyes and sleep over at Golemo Ezero mountain hut.
We end the tour by descending to the town of Bitola and tasting the local melted cheese specialties at the best local restaurants.
